
Days after the Senate voted for 11 member trial for Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, leaflets with a message “Waiguru Must Go” has been circulating within the county.
The leaflets dropped at strategic towns, Kerugoya, Kimbimbi, Kianyaga, Kagio, Kutus, Sagana and Ngurubani has called on residents to turn out in numbers to demonstrate from Monday, June 22nd in solidarity to eliminating corruption within the county.
The author of the leaflets is yet to be known and the leaflets are in Kikuyu and English languages.

According to a leaflet done in Kikuyu, the message is being directed to even those that can’t read English in order to understand the message well.
Leaflets with messages criticizing Governor Anne Waiguru are in circulation in Kirinyaga County. The governor is expected to appear before a special Senate committee on Tuesday.
On Saturday night, the governor shared on her social media pages her preparation to present her response to the Senate committee that is set to investigate her and she said that she was ready and “clean”.
Some of the accusations against the governor have been an abuse of office and gross violation of the Constitution by the ward representatives.
Also, the governor is accused of influencing the establishment of a tender committee compromising of her partisan staff as well as going against the Procurement Act.
Her legal team will be headed by Kamotho Waiganjo who doubles up as her husband.
