Fundraiser to offset Kasavuli’s Sh4mn hospital bill set for Saturday

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 4 – A fundraiser to clear the hospital bill of veteran newscaster Catherine Kasavuli is set to be held on Saturday at the United Kenya Club.



According to a program released by the family, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi will be the Chief Guest, among other notable guests.



Kasavuli’s son Martin recently appealed for help to offset a hospital bill estimated at four million Shillings.



The family has also released a paybill number 8089700 Account number Catherine Kasavuli for well wishers to send in their contributions.



Kasavuli passed away last Thursday after a long battle with cervical cancer.



A funeral service in her honour will be held on Thursday next week, at Friends International Church along Ngong road in Nairobi, and thereafter she will be laid to rest on the 14th of January at her home in Vihiga County.



Until her demise, Kasavuli was a news anchor at the public broadcaster where she was presenting the Legends Edition that airs every Saturday night on KBC Channel 1.
