AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems is a man under scrutiny after Football Kenya Federation (FKF) launched a probe into the comments made after his team’s barren draw against current Nzoia Sugar on Sunday at the Sudi Stadium.
In the post-match interview, Aussems called a journalist ‘stupid’ before the tactician took to his official Twitter page with contemptuous remarks on the four officials that took over the Sunday afternoon fixture.
Aussems further termed the officials as ‘clowns’ before he claimed that women centre referees are more professional than their male counterparts.
The sentiments came after a local journalist asked Aussems why he didn’t leave the field claiming he had been red-carded, but the statement didn’t go down well with Ingwe’s tactician.
“You are stupid my friend because the red card was for Webo (AFC Leopards keepers trainer) and not for me. So you are stupid and don’t ask questions any more,” Aussems said.
According to the center referee, Webo had been sent to the stands for protesting against a referee’s decision during the game time.
Leopards have been in fine form after stretching their unbeaten run to six matches, thanks to their barren draw against FKF Premier League leaders Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium on Sunday.
Soon after the fixture, Aussems noted the team is on the right track after the 12-time league leaders recorded four wins and two draws in the past six fixtures.
Leopards are in position seven on 22 points, only six behind league leader Nzoia Sugar.
