
The Kenya Universities and colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) have released the much awaited placement results for candidates of KCSE 2022.
The results have been released by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, who said a total of 285,698 students submitted applications for placement to Universities and Colleges.
According CS Machogu, 870,561 students were eligible for placement to Universities and colleges, but out of that number only 285,698 students submitted their applications.
A total of 285,167 students have been placed to pursue degree and TVET courses. The students placed to pursue degree courses are 140,107 and for TVET courses ,145,060 students.
The distribution categories of placement
Public Universities 130,485 students
Private Universities 9,662 students
University TVET 13,465 students
MoE TVET 125,507 students
Non-MoE TVET 5,528 students
Diploma Secondary 560 students.
This year had a share of its surprise as many students who qualified for degree courses opted to be placed in TVET institutions. SC Machogu said,” A total of 9,673 applicants who qualified for degree courses chose to be placed in TVET institutions.”
The KUCCPS portal is still open for KMTC courses and Primary TTC, closes on 4 August, 2023.
