Russia applauds Kenya for rejecting gay rights.
Russia has applauded Kenya for its recent decision to reject western values in the gay rights debate. Russia has long been an opponent of Western values on LGBT issues, and has instead championed traditional values. Kenya’s decision to follow suit is a victory for Russia in the ongoing cultural battle between the two powers.
LGBT rights are a hot-button issue globally, and Kenya’s stance is sure to ruffle some feathers. But Kenya is not the only country in Africa to outlaw homosexuality; in fact, it is one of 38. Russia has been a vocal supporter of these countries, and has even provided financial assistance to help them enforce their anti-gay laws.
Moscow has urged Kenya to remain firm in its stance and not give in to western pressure. Russia believes that Kenya’s decision is a positive step towards preserving traditional values and rejecting the liberal, western agenda.
The Russian Embassy in Nairobi has backed the stance taken by top Kenyan government officials against homosexuality, and urged the country to remain firm. The embassy made the statement in response to comments made by Kenyan President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that they would not allow same-sex marriage in the country.
The embassy said that it supported the position of the Kenyan government on the issue, and urged the country to continue to uphold its traditional values. It also urged other countries to respect Kenya’s stance on the issue.
In response to remarks made by President Ruto and his deputy Gachagua on Thursday, March 2nd, in which they stated that homosexuality has no place in Kenya, the Russian Embassy in Kenya issued a statement.
The embassy noted that same-sex relations are not recognized in Russian law, and therefore they do not believe that Kenya should condone such relations. They also expressed hope that Kenya would not allow homosexual relations to be advertised or promoted in any way, as this would be contrary to the country’s values and traditions.
The Embassy warned that the “gay agenda” was being pushed by the Western nations and urged leaders to take responsibility for protecting the country’s traditional values or risk losing humanity.
It used strong language to denounce what it called the promotion of “immoral behaviour” by the West, and said that such behaviour endangered the very fabric of society. The statement did not specifically mention any country, but it was seen as a clear rebuke of the United States, which has been increasingly vocal in its support of LGBT rights.
Russia has been very firm in its opposition to the LGBTQ community and its agenda. President Vladimir Putin has been vocal in his criticism of the community, and has even enacted laws against its members. This has led to a great deal of tension between Russia and the rest of the world, as many countries have much more tolerant views towards the LGBTQ community.
Putin anti-LGBTQ stance
During his last state of the nation address, President Putin blasted the West for encouraging same-sex relationships. He went on to say that the West is obligated to protect our children from degradation and degeneracy.
“Look at what they are doing in the West. They distort historical facts, and do not stop their attacks on Russian culture, on the Russian Orthodox Church,” Putin said.
It is clear that President Putin does not agree with the way that the West is handling same-sex relationships. He feels that they are causing degradation and degeneracy, and he wants to protect children from this.
This recent comment by Vladimir Putin speaks to a much broader issue at hand – the decline of traditional values in the West. For centuries, the family unit has been the cornerstone of society, but now it seems that this foundation is being eroded. Pedophilia and same-sex marriage are becoming more accepted, while the role of religion is being diminished.
Putin is right to be concerned about this trend, as it is indicative of a deeper moral crisis in the West. If we continue down this path, we will only become more decadent and depraved. It is time for us to return to our roots and rediscover the importance of family, faith, and tradition.
President Ruto Thursday said Kenya will not tolerate LGBTQ practices, citing nonconformity to the country’s traditions and beliefs.
“We respect our courts but our traditions and beliefs do not allow same sex relationships. That will not happen in Kenya, it may happen elsewhere but not in this country,” President Ruto stated.
“I will not allow men to compete with women for other men,” he added.
Ruto’s comments come after Kenya’s High Court on Monday declined to decriminalize gay sex, saying that the country’s laws do not discriminate against anyone and that it was up to parliament to change them.
President Ruto has called on religious leaders to take a firm stand against the LGBTQ agenda. He believes that foreign practices are eroding traditional values and beliefs.
“I want to ask our religious leaders to stand firm and educate our children, our people so that we don’t lose our beliefs and way of life to foreign practices,” the President said.
Ruto’s comments come at a time when the LGBT community is facing increasing scrutiny and hostility in many parts of the world. In some countries, such as Uganda, same-sex relations are already illegal. And in others, like Brazil, LGBT people are facing a backlash from conservative forces.
Gachagua also commented on the issue, terming the ruling of the Supreme Court ruling on LGBTQ rights as “demonic”. He went on to say that the people who support such rights are “unnatural” and “indecent”. He also claimed that the ruling was a sign of the country’s moral decline.
