
The solidarity boys knocked out Shanderema High school by a solitary goal. The match pitting the two soccer giants was well attended by over thirty thousand fans supporting their teams.
The well balanced match was full of skillful talents with almost equal chances to score, but goalkeepers from both teams proved hard to beat.
Though Shanderema continued with their push to equalize, their efforts were fruitless with most of the chances missed.
St. Anthony’s tough talking coach Peter Mayoyo praised his boys for the performance in today’s match despite some few players previously injured.
“I have some players with injuries although I believe in the whole team of twenty players who can deliver”, noted Mayoyo.
“The trophy is heading to Trans Nzoia”, added Mayoyo.
St. Anthony will play against Nairobi’s champions Dagoretti in the final on Saturday at Bukhungu stadium. Dagoretti beat Agoro Sare four goals to one through spot kicks, after the two teams drew one all.
The match played at Kakamega High School saw Agoro Sare convert only a single spot kick, paving way for the Nairobians to meet Kitale’s St. Anthony. The two teams met in the group stage encounter where the Nairobians beat the Solidarity boys by a solitary goal.
In the volleyball boys category, Anderson will play Ruthimitu in the finals, while western region champions Namwela will play Tumaini in the play offs for a third place.
In the girls category, Kesogon will meet favourites Kwanthanze of Eastern in the finals, as Mwitoti will play Soweto in the play offs for a third place.
The game’s will close officially after the final matches.
